Our Story

Enjem’s Flooring America has served the Mohawk Valley for over 100 years, beginning in 1917 when Matilda and Francis Enjem opened a small dry goods shop in Ilion, NY. As the business grew, the store shifted its focus to flooring in the 1950s, when their sons, David and Joseph, recognized the increasing demand for quality floor coverings. Their leadership helped establish Enjem’s as a trusted name for both residential and commercial flooring. Later, Joseph’s son Tony joined the business in the late 1950s and continued to expand its reputation and reach.

Today, the fourth generation of the Enjem family continues this legacy. Under the guidance of Mark Enjem, the business remains committed to delivering exceptional service, upholding strong community values, and adapting to the evolving needs of modern homeowners. In 2023, Enjem introduced Room to Explore, an interactive showroom experience that enables customers to visualize flooring selections easily. This addition reflects our ongoing commitment to combining tradition, innovation, and customer care for the Utica community.
